Lab collaborator and former Ph.D. student at MTSU Angela Google won the SABER 2021 conference Graduate Student Talk Award for her talk on work done with our lab! She presented "Isolation, Resilience, and Faith: Experiences of Black Christian Graduate Students in Biology". The awards committee said she won for "her powerful integration of theory and research, rigorous methods, the importance of the research to biology education, and her engaging delivery of the results. Go, Angela!


We have a total of six posters and three talks being presented at SABER 2021 over the next four Fridays from students working in our lab or collaborating with our lab on projects. From climate change communication, evolution education, to COVID19 and bioethics instruction, we are presenting on ways to (1) increase positive attitudes towards science and (2) promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in biology.
