Members of the SPS Lab presented their research at the Southeastern STEM Education Research conference hosted at MTSU! Rahmi presented a talk on the impact of religious identity on the efficacy of culturally competent evolution instruction and a poster on metacognition in assessing evolutionary understanding, Katie presented a talk on the perceived conflict between religion and evolution in undergraduate biology students, and Casey and Katie presented a poster on the effects of a science communication module on undergraduate biology students' ability to communicate about culturally controversial science topics.




The lab published a new paper on science communication education in CBE-Life Sciences Education on the experiences that Black undergraduate biology students had with science communication about COVID-19 and the COVID-19 vaccines!
