The Barnes Social Perceptions of Science lab attended the SABER 2025 conference at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis!

Postdoctoral researcher Erin Rowland-Schaefer gave a talk on her work exploring undergraduate biology students' science communication in the Southeast Postdoctoral researcher Mary Foley presented a poster on how a science communication CURE might help develop students' science identity and science communication skills.
Ph.D student Kate Coscia presented a poster on a literature review of over 2500 articles describing science communication trainings. Undergraduate student Donye Asberry presented a poster on students' perceived abilities to communicate within their own communities and with people different from them about controversial science topics. Undergraduate student Zaynab Alnassari presented a poster on the intersectional experiences of Muslim women in undergraduate biology courses. Undergraduate student J. Hayes presented a poster on Christian students' attitudes, risk perceptions, and communication about climate change.
And J. won the undergraduate poster competition! Congratulations J.!
